Biography

Yolanda close-up

Yolanda Bain has been practicing Yoga and Meditation in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 20 years and teaching since 1988. Throughout the years her practice has been informed by many styles of Hatha, Raja and Tantra yoga, including Sivananda, Ananda, Acu-Yoga, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Anusara and Integrative Yoga Therapy. She has also been greatly influenced by mindfulness-based Buddhist principles. Her unique style of Integrative Hatha Yoga artfully weaves together the essence of these teachings.

It is with a deep commitment to living mindfully, joyfully and compassionately that she has chosen yoga as a life path and a livelihood. She currently leads on-going public classes, private sessions, workshops, retreats and a 200-hour Teacher Training Course registered with Yoga Alliance. Her classes are gracefully flowing, energetic, strengthening and inspiring. Whether teaching large groups or individuals, beginners or advanced, her students are skillfully guided through the practices that open the heart, clear the mind and allow the art and science of yoga to become an accessible basis for everyday living.

She has completed several certification courses with many fine teachers including Sarah Powers, Erich Schiffman, Maritza, Joseph LePage and Michael Reed Gach. Other highly influential teachers have been Donna Farhi and Tias Little. She is a Registered Yoga Alliance Teacher (E-RYT) and a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT).
